This disruption comes fast and furious. We still don’t know when it will end and how it will bring at the end. That’s why it causes lots of stress, anxiety, fear, worry, grief, and so on. We live as if we are in World War III where safety and certainty are hard to find. Will this pandemic bring a new era for humankind? How should we cope with the global crisis including severe environmental issues everywhere on earth? What’s the solution? The year 2020 is the 50th anniversary of Earth Day which is on April 22. If you believe that the situation and condition we live with now is the result of our past creation or action, so-called Karma, what shall we do to make the future better? Dhammakaya Foundation would like to invite everyone to protect the earth by being mindful of our thought, speech, and action. Our action has its own consequence and one action may have a ripple effect more than we think. Since the mind controls the body like computer hardware controls software, how to make sure the mind will not be infected by the virus? If we have to kill the virus in the software or install an automatic detective program to kill it, the same to the mind. Our mind has been contaminated with negativities we have accumulated through our thought, speech, and action as well as external factors and exposures. Is it time to clean and clear it? Meditation is a free medicine to get rid of impurities that cause negative or wrong thought, speech, and action. Why don’t we… 1.Close your eyes: To look back into ourselves to know what we actually need the most in life. 2.Open your mind: To listen to our inner voice with full consciousness. 3.Vaccinate your life: To prevent us from being panic and to stay healthy and strong with willpower to live on. 4.Isolate yourself: To be with ourselves more than ever in order to discover something new. 5.Detoxify your health: To have less toxic that cloud the mind and harm the body. 6.1 (One) person at a time: To start with us first. 7.9 friends to share: Let’s share it with our beloved ones to protect them from being infected. From 2-22 April 2020, we will launch a virtual gathering during this social distancing for 20 days, 20 minutes on each day, to promote “Meditation” as a tool to bring happiness and peace as well as to fight against COVID-19 that bombarding us physically, mentally, and emotionally.
